Special effect pigments for the coating industry
Geotech effect pigments have been used in the coating industry for many years now by a variety of customers such as PPG and AKZO NOBEL. Geopearl® , Geodiamond® and Geoshine® effect pigments turn basic coatings into special, unique products.
Effect pigments are frequently used in automotive coatings, plastic coatings, dispersion paints, printing inks, floor coatings and artist paints.
The following product ranges create special effects in coatings and inks:

- Geometal® aluminum glitter;

- Geospectra® holographic glitter;

Geotech effect pigments can be applied under as well as over process colours and thus create an unlimited variety of special effects.

Formulating effect pigments
The particle size of pigments and glitter have significant influence on the final effect. Particle sizes up to approx. 25 micron create pearly effects with high covering. Larger particle sizes give bright to glittering effects and are more transparent.
Effect pigments generally disperse well.
Coarse effect pigments, like the Geopearl® Bright and Sparkling range do not create flaws in the end products like metallic pigments intend to do.
Effect pigments are stable in water and solvent based systems.
