The portfolio of cosmetic ingredients comprises a wide range of glitter, pearlescent pigments, metallic pigments and dispersions, carbon black pigment and disperions and mica. With this broad range of high quality products Geotech is the partner to the cosmetic industry in the areas of decorative cosmetics and personal care. Since many years our effect pigments are being used by market leaders such as L'Oréal and Chanel.
Geotech cosmetic effect pigments actually manipulate light to create visual excitement and dramatically improve the look of cosmetic and personal care products.

Geotech offers guideline formulations for both colour and personal care cosmetics. The laboratory in Haarlem can help you formulating the right product and match colours upon request. Furthermore we offer our customers and distributors free courses 'formulating effect pigments' in our laboratory.
Formulating effect pigments
Geotech effect pigments offer excellent compatibility with other pigments or dyes. Coloured pearlescent pigments do not only provide effect, but also colour to cosmetic products. Pigment concentrations differ per product from a liquid soap, starting at 1%, to pressed powders, up to 60%.
The particle size of pigments and glitter have significant influence on the final effect. Particle sizes up to approx. 25 micron create pearly effects with high covering. Larger particle sizes give bright to glittering effects.
Effect pigments generally disperse well. They can be added to powder systems after milling, before the binder is added. MidnightBlack® D&C Black 2 powder requires more energy to disperse.
