Geometal® aluminum glitter

Geometal® glitter are brilliantly colored particles of precision cut aluminum foil. Geometal® is used as a colour flake in different types of masterbatches such as PP, PE and ABS. Well known applications are household equipments such as water heaters, coffee machines, waste baskets, tooth brushes and electric razors.

In ABS plastics Geometal® is used in dash boards to create metallic sparkling effects. Geometal® is also commonly used in solvent based coatings, PVC flooring and wall papers to add a touch of sparkle and catch the consumer's eye.

With aluminum glitter a variety of special effects can be achieved from metallic silver to marble black. Geotech produces 20 different colours of aluminum Geometal® glitter. The main characteristics of these glitter are high temperature and good solvent resistance.

Geometal® aluminum glitter are cutted out of a 12 micron thick epoxy coated foil. Each colour is available in particle sizes from 50 µm (0.004 inch) up to 3 mm. One of the advantages of Geometal® Silver glitter in plastics is that they do not give "flow-lines" like aluminum pigments do. Geometal® glitter have a heat stability of 260 degrees Celsius.
