Special effect pigments for flooring systems
Glitter and pearlescent pigments can be incorperated into different type of flooring systems to obtain special effects. Geotech effect pigments have been used in the flooring industry for many years now by a variety of companies such as Tarkett and Forbo for vinyl flooring systems. Another well known application are glitter flakes into liquid synthetic flooring. Suitable for many types of spaces such as showrooms, boutiques, bars and trendy living rooms.

Formulating effect pigments
For liquid synthetic flooring systems with glitter effect first paint the concrete floor. Afterwards, spray the glitter over the wet floor (approx. 250 gram / m2). After drying, you can take off the glitter who do not stick. Finally put a clear polyurethane or epoxy layer of approx. 2-3 mm.
Effect pigments offer excellent compatibility with other pigments or dyes.
The particle size of pigments and glitter have significant influence on the final effect. Particle sizes up to approx. 25 micron create pearly effects with high covering. Larger particle sizes give bright to glittering effects and are more transparent.
